Common Troubleshooting Steps

The Do's

  • Try rebooting the PC
  • Check cables to ensure they are plugged in
  • Check with others. Same issue? If so, its not likely a problem with your PC
  • Be detailed when submitting a support ticket. "It doesn't work", isn't very helpful
  • If you see or smell smoke coming from the PC, unplug it from the outlet
  • If the problem is urgent, please call us immediately

The Don'ts

  • Don't reboot servers or network devices
  • Don't force cables in or tug on them
  • Don't allow anyone you do not know to access your PC or network
  • Don't click on links or open attachments in a suspicious email
  • Don't plug USB devices into your PC, unless is has been authorized
  • Don't hesitate to submit a support ticket. Better safe than sorry
