Cyber Security Explained

Information security, also known as InfoSec, is the process of protecting information security and defending against external threats that can present themselves in the form of cyber-attacks, malware, viruses and other threats. This is to protect networks, devices and data from unauthorized access and criminal use and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information. It can include providing software-based tools to protect and monitor data in the cloud to eliminate the risks associated with attacks on buildings, developing recovery strategies in case of a cybersecurity breach and develop strategies to manage and prevent data loss, or even physical aspects such as moving important equipment into protected areas.

How much personal information is stored on your computer, mobile device, tablet or other electronic device in your home or office? You’d be surprised.

There is no guarantee that these things will not happen even if you take the best precautions, but there are steps you can take to minimize your chances. To really prepare for potential cyber-attacks, companies must implement strategies tailored to their business.

Developing cybersecurity protocols must involve the IT department and incorporate the latest technologies and best practices from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and other government agencies.

To fully protect data, cybersecurity must extend to the network hardware, software, and mobile devices used by companies. To protect IT infrastructure, network security must be respected to protect against cyber criminals who intercept, modify, or steal information. This means protecting all data sent to your network, computers and other devices. It’s a tall bill to see to.

Cyber security is often compared to physical security, a more traditional security practice that aims to control access to physical goods such as buildings, roads, buildings, and infrastructure. Although there are many different types of physical and cyber security that are interconnected, Cyber security in many cases focuses on protecting assets from malicious actors or their viruses.

Infrastructure is divided into three main categories: physical infrastructure, digital infrastructure, and data infrastructure (e.g. computers, servers, networks).
